The Silver Lining

I post this because I know there is a mom out there going through her day in utter exhaustion from her night before. Cups of coffee right after another to make it to nap time. You are not alone!!

Here is the monologue of my night. . . unedited, raw, emotion. . . Capri has been sick for 3 days, up quite a few times a night. This was night 3. . .

2am. .  . . Up for the idk how many times, Heidi nursing for the 3rd time since 11pm, Capri comes in, wakes Heidi fully, 

she's out of water, makes a mess filling it, needs a boogie wipe, then screams so Loud. Scares Heidi and I. 

She peed. She'd been holding it since yesterday morning. I still have the other side to nurse. 

Capri is crying and wet. Jeremy wakes up. Wants me to snuggle. Right. Now. In a few minutes will not do. 

He has to wait. He goes to bed crying.
I finish nursing, put the baby in bed, crying because she's now fully awake. Go to Clean Capri. There is so much pee! 

In a trickled path to the bathtoom, on the floor I mopped before bed!
Clean it up. . . While Capri has decided her bed isn't comfy enough, she needs to sleep on the couch. By the way, 

she has been non-stop coughing this whole time. Gives herself a breathing treatment while I mop, again 

(I mopped the floors before I went to bed).
Now she's hungry. the baby is quiet. Jeremy is quite. In sad that they both had to cry themselves to sleep.  I warm up 

some rice, her request. 2 bites in, she's full. Can I please have a cutie? I need my fruit. Peel the cutie. 2 bites in, you 

guessed it. Done. But then she says something profound. . .
"mommy  I'm just very sleepy. I love you mommy. You're the best mommy evah. "

2 hours late makes it all with it.

Martens mommy at 3:55, checking out, exhausted but with a full heart. 

We snuggled on the couch and watched movies most of the next day!
