Capri turns 4

Capri choose chicken legs, sweet potatoes, green beans, and monkey bread for her 4th birthday! It has been such joy to teach her preschool this year! I have a passion for teaching preschool! I got to use all the projects and curriculum I made when I was teaching on my kid! It was a really cool experience. For her pre-kinder year she will attend the preschool where I worked. I have requested my favorite teachers! Prayerfully she gets one of them! I think her sass has calmed down a bit. She has a compassion about her I yearn for! She is always the one to remind me of the rules and be sure everybody is following them. She loves to be dressed up and go play in the mud with Jeremy, the perfect combination, if you ask me!

Capri's 4 acts of kindness:

1. Make Jeremy's bed for him one morning.

2. Make a bag of diapers and wipes to put at a public restroom changing table.

3. give a gift to someone who has helped us. She choose the receptionist at the Time Share.

4. Make cookies for Daddy's station.

Princess Day

Look at this Beauty!

I've realized since Heidi-Rae was born, I haven't spent much one on one time with Capri. Bobby really wanted to send us on a Princess Day to Disneyland. I was hesitant because of the price! A friend came across discount tickets and that was all we needed! We booked her an appointment to get her hair done at the Bippity Boppity Boutique and were all set! I didn't tell her where we were going, just that we would be gone all day and it was just she and I!

There are SO many pictures but I just couldn't narrow it down! She was incredibly surprised when we arrived. We got there a little early, so we went to get a treat at Starbucks. While talking over breakfast, Capri was worried Jeremy would feel bad that he couldn't be there. She called him to say Hi and wanted to get him al little gift! What a sweetie! I asked what she wanted to do all day. Her response was, "Go on the carousel and meet the Fairy Godmother."
On the drive
When she figured out where we were going
On the tram
Getting Hair Done

Make up and Nails
She loves to be the center of attention!

Before and after!
The after is so cute and the day was fun
But I prefer the before on an every day basis!
Next, We headed to see the Princesses. . . .

Belle asked her favorite book. . . .

Cinderella gave her dancing lessons. . . .

Snow White taught her a song....

Aurora taught her to talk with the animals.
She love Sleeping Beauty's hair.
It was time for some rides!
The carousel brought SO much excitement!

Toon Town

We waited in SUCH a long line to meet Mickey!
And play peek-a-boo.

She loved Minnie's house!
We got lunch and since we had been up since 5:30am, I had Capri lay down to take a nap. I got her all settled in the stroller, then I saw The Fairy Godmother!!! I had to let her get up!
That smile says it all!

She settled into a 2 hour slumber!
I got some snacks, found a shady spot and read a book!
We snuggled for quite while when she woke up!
The rest of the day we played, laughed, joked.   IT. WAS. SO. MUCH. FUN

She just HAD to take a picture on the fire truck for Daddy!

Capri: 2 Year Update

Oh My! I can't believe she's 2!!!!

Weight

21.5 pounds! I can't remember her height! I'd measure her now but she's sleeping. . . The only time a mama can blog!

Health

We are blessed to have pretty healthy kids! Aside from the occasional cold, which is pretty rare, we don't battle with sickness too often. Thank you, Jesus!

Sleep

This girl loves to sleep! If the house is quiet she will sleep until 8:30am! The house is rarely quiet! So she generally wakes up around 7am. We have finally kicked her morning nap! It took until 23 months! Crazy girl! Afternoon nap is 1:30-3:30 or 4pm. Bedtime at 8pm. She LOVES her blanket! 12x12 piece of baby crack! Won't sleep without it! She only has it when she sleeps though.
We had a day a few weeks ago, where we couldn't find it. She had taken it out of her bed to play and didn't know where she put it. This is the exact reason, we make sure it stays on her bed. But I didn't realize it this time. We looked all over! I even crawled around the house, at her level, with a flashlight! I know, kinda ridiculous! Downfall to having a security blanket! She was still awake at 10:30pm, crying and asking me for it! I FINALLY found it behind a basket in her room! Before she fell asleep, I watched her, on the monitor, telling her baby doll the story of Mommy finding it! I should note that Jeremy was this attached at her age as well, he is not anymore. He likes to have it but if he looses it, he can still fall asleep. We have not be able to find it for days and he is fine! Capri is still an avid right thumb sucker! She only sucks it at nap and night time with her blanket. If it's one of those times in the car she will suck it too. Pretty much when she has her blanket.

Clothes

We are in between 18 months and 2T. Transitioning from size 5 to size 6 shoes. She loves her dresses! And muddy boots.

Social

This girl can work a room! She loves to be the center of attention! She plays into it. She performs anytime she gets the chance!

Brotherly/Sisterly Love

Capri and Jeremy are the best of buddies! They play all day long with minimal fighting! Capri is a little mommy to Heidi. Sometime she is too rough and we have to remind her. . .ok, most of the time. She just wants to help. She constantly asks to hold her, runs to get a pacifier when she cries, checks on her first thing in the morning when she comes in our room. It's pure joy to watch the bond!

Diet

Capri eats just about everything we give her. She loves to eat. Her favorites include: Peanut butter and jelly, edamame, Gold Fish, blueberries, bananas, and squeeze fruit packs.

Milestones

She has POTTY TRAINED HERSELF! I can't believe it! She had been asking while I was on bed rest but it was too stressful for us to entertain it. As soon as Heidi-Rae came home she was bound and determined! It was a little trying when I was feeding the baby and Capri had to go! But we made it work and we rarely have accidents! EVEN though naps and night. It's crazy! We planned to have 2 in diapers at least until the end of summer!

We have moved Capri to her BIG girl bed. She does really well staying in it. I love to hear her little pitter patter in the mooring coming into bed with us! It's much nicer now that she is potty trained, she can get up when she needs to go.
Then one night we didn't have the monitor on. I went in to kiss her goodnight before I went to bed. . .
She was sleeping on toys!! She literally fell asleep playing!
I have no idea how long she was awake!

She also got her nails done for the first time recently! Bobby dropped me off while he took the kid to the park. When they came back my nail lady, Ann, insisted on doing Capri's. Capri was more then happy to allow her to! Pink with white dots!

We have a little swimmer on our hands I am confident that IF she feel in the pool she would hold her breath and get herself to the edge! It's such a relief! She is also talking in full on sentences! It seems like the past 4 months have been a huge vocabulary explosion!!

Personality
She's a little mama!
OH this little girl has a strong willed ,spunky, spitfire, compassionate, mommy-sense, get dirty wearing her princess dress personality! Both our parents say she is just like each of us! How funny! We must have both been similar!

That smile melts my heart!
It's time for me to start writing down her saying like I do with J! My favorite right now is, "Mama, I love you so much."

Capri Update: 10 Months*

Weight
I don't have an accurate weight on Capri this month! I'm guessing she is about 21 pounds. I can only hold her for a little while! The Ergo has been a great help! Here's a picture of her in it; Bad angle of a self shot!

I just learned how to wear her on my back. Although, I'm not comfortable enough wearing it in public (because it's tricky to get her in it by myself), we do go all around the house and yard with it! I'll get a back carry shot for you in the next update!

Health
The best!!
We were on a healthy streak until the 17th! Her 10 month birthday! We went to church, she was fine, woke up from her nap, fever! Bam. Just like that! 101.2! It was so odd! We started thinking something was off because she woke up and SNUGGLED with Daddy! This never happens!

Daddy came home from working 3 days and just wanted a hug!
LuLu was NOT having it!
The night was a little rough of breaking fevers and a baby girl that was miserable. But within 48 hours she was better! Weird!

Sleep

I think Capri is changing her schedule! I thought she would be going to 2 naps a day soon. She has stuck with 3 and spaced them out a little. She wakes at 6am to nurse, back to sleep until 7:30am, nap from 9:30-10:30. Lunch at 12pm, then nap from 1pm-2:30pm, nap from 6pm-6:30pm, bed at 8pm.

Clothes
"My Brown Eyed Girl"
Aren't they beautiful!!??

Most of the 9 month clothes have been put away and 12 month have made their home in her closet! This little girl is SO blessed! We have had a few friends give us clothes from their daughters! We have yet to buy her clothes! Well. . . confession: I have bought a few items I just couldn't resist at Target or Kohls!  The little girl clothes are SO CUTE!! B even made a comment about it being hard to resist buying cute clothes for her!

Social

Daddy and the kiddos at Ferrells!
Thanks Cory for photo bombing!!

We remain a very social family! Ha! Thank God our kids are extroverts! This month the schedule included: Having the LePlante family over for the weekend, Celebrating Auntie's birthday, going to Ferrell's Ice Cream Parlour with small group, and spending the day with Auntie while Daddy, Mommy, Lolli and Jeremy went skiing, and had a pool day at Kimo and Auntie Donna's! YES, it was in February! Love Southern California!

Snuggling with Grandma while we were skiing.

Brotherly/Sisterly Love
Playing in the backyard. He is filling her tub up with water.

These two continue to melt my heart with the bond they are creating! Capri absolutely loves Jeremy! She lights up when he comes in the room! She is always put in a better mood when she sees him! I am truly enjoying watching them grow together.

Holding her in for the picture. She fell forward on take 1!
Daddy will have to install some sort of seatbelt!
Pssst. . . This is their combined birthday gift!
Don't tell them!

Diet

YUM

We have added so much since last month! We cut up just about every fruit or veggie we eat and let her have at it. She loves it! I haven't given her noodles, rice, or meats, yet. We, sometimes give her baby food (Earth's Best Organic). This doesn't fall exactly inline with Baby led weaning but I bought some because it was "on sale" before we decided to go with baby-led weaning and feel like I need to use it up. Plus, there are days she just can't get enough. She is fussy, I know she is hungry, milk isn't cutting it, and she is frustrated with chunks. After a little mush, she is happy. She is still nursing every 3 hours. I think it's about 5 ounces.

Milestones

There are so many things to report this month!  She makes the sound of a monkey, she uses the sign for please, all done, waving "Hi" and "Bye", and gives kisses. However, she has stopped doing all of them! Silly baby girl, She'll pick them back up when she is ready! She IS standing on her own! Whoop, whoop!
So annoyed by the diaper! But at least they are cute diapers from Honest!
Daddy thinks she's super cute in just a t-shirt and diaper!

Well, until next month!

Capri Update: 9 months*

Homegirl is ALWAYS smiling!

Weight
1st bath in the sink! She usually takes a bath with J.
Look at those chunky arms!! Love them!

We are steadily gaining about a pound a month. She weighs in at 20.2 pounds!

Health
Now that I am on the move (spoiler alert), I find fun places to crawl into!

Capri has been healthy!! No recent trips to the doctor! And Eczema has statyed away! Praise Jesus!

Sleep
So precious!

She is steady on her sleep patterns too! We play the evening nap by ear.
She goes to bed around 8pm, wakes at 6am to nurse, back to sleep until about 8:30am. She naps for about 1/2 hour at 1030. Then down for a 2.5 hour nap at 1:00pm when Jeremy naps (how did I get so blessed?)! Another little 1/2 hour nap around 6pm. Bed at 8pm.

Clothes
I LOVE dressing a little girl! So fun!

I have put away all the 6-9month clothes! There are a few 9 months that are kinda snug and need to be worn one last time!

Social
This was when we saw her after being gone over night!

Capri had her first overnight stay away from me and her first weekend away this month! The overnight was with my mom while we were in Big Bear with friends. She was only about 15 minutes away from me! My mom loved every minute of it!
The weekend was with Jackie. We went to Northern Cali for a training to facilitate a marriage class. I missed her like crazy (J too.) But she was taken care of and that eased my mind. Plus, it was a much little getaway for B and I!

Brotherly/Sisterly Love

These two just make my heart smile every day! Capri absolutely LOVES Jeremy! Anytime he walks in the room she lights up. She giggles like crazy when he is being silly.  She loves wrestling with him. We have a walker for her, Jeremy loves racing her up and down the hallway! She gets a deep belly laugh!
The joy on her face is priceless!

She was crying, Jeremy said, "Mama she wants to snuggle with me!"

Diet

Little Miss is eating chunks of fruit. So far. . . banana, avocado, and apple. She is also drinking water from her sippy cup. I think she chews on it more then drinks!

Milestones
Big Girl Bed!

  • Baby girl in ON THE MOVE! Here is the video
  • We moved her into her own room in a crib. Before she was in our room in the pac and play. It's still up and occasionally I put her to bed in there. Especially when Bobby is working long shifts! I like the company!
  • We also, have 2 teeth! They popped in with in 12 hours of each other! The starter tooth was with Auntie!
  • She signs "All Done"
  • She moves her way around the house and backyard in her walker!
She will hold on if we put her to standing postition.
She isn't pulling up just yet.

2 Teeth!
What do I do with this thing! It didn't take long to figure it out!
