Jeremy turns 6

Jeremy choose Ribs, macaroni and cheese and broccoli to celebrate his 6th birthday!
In all my years dreaming of being a mommy... it was always to 5 and under! I feel like infants through kindergarten is my niche... We are stepping into uncharted territory! I am ready to take the bull by he horns (the literacy of that phrase scares me a little) and help my little boy grow into a man after God's heart! His Daddy is a great example of a family man. Jeremy is always by his side, morning the law, fixing the chicken coop, cooking, playing sports, etc. His memory amazes us. He memorized over 30 Bible verses for Awana this year.
Bobby was working on his actual birthday, so we went to the station to have Chick-Fil-A... Bobby bought silly string, invited his partner's kids and ambushed Jeremy! It was epic! They also got donuts for dessert!

Left: Silly string Ambush
Middle Top: WE walked to the store, they all got to pick one thing to buy... carrot, apple, and pear!
Middle Bottom: Daddy had donuts and candles!
Right Top: Capri wrote a chalk board note
Right Bottom: Friends celebrating at the station

Jeremy's 6 Acts of Kindness:

1. Take coffee and donuts to Grandpa's work site.

2. Make paper airplanes for Dillon and Drew

3. A surprise he wouldn't tell me about..... It was a paper that said "I <3 <3 <3 <3 Mom" 4 hearts for love!! SO sweet!

4. Give oranges to the neighbors. Didn't get a photo :(

5. Send dessert to a family at a restaurant. Red Robbin

6. Make lemonade and banana bread for our next door neighbor, Marlene.

Jeremy's 5 Act of Kindness

Jeremy got to ride in his trike-a-thon for his birthday! HE WON out of the entire school! HIs winnings included 2 Disneyland passes and $125 Toy R Us gift card! Whoa! Pretty cool Birthday gift! This kid has such heart to love other people! He really enjoys his acts of Kindness! I didn't get too many pictures of them! But here's what I did get!

 1. He delivered chips & salsa to the local fire station.
2. He wrote 5 notes of encouragement to stick randomly on things during the day.
3. He gave one of his fire engines to a friend we know loves fire engines!
4. He took quarters to the mail place. They were for little kids that come in whom might want some candy from the vending machines.
5. He took balls to the park and handed them out to kids.

4 year old in the house!

I. CAN'T. BELIEVE. I. HAVE. A. 4. YEAR. OLD!!!!
Could you read the drama emphasis I put on that!

He has completely passed the toddler stage! This little boy is so smart! We are blown away by his questions! See the end of the post for some the fun, genius, crazy, cute things he says!

Last year we started a new birthday tradition. We do one act of kindness per year you are celebrating. Bobby and I are not fond of celebrating our birthdays. So much of birthdays are selfish:
What am I going to get? Let's celebrate me. It's my birthday, we do what I want.
I don't want to teach my kids that. I want to teach my kids to love others above themselves, I want them to be a light in such a dark world! Acts of kindness are such a great way to show that! Jeremy loves doing them! Here and the 4 he choose this year:
#1
He picked flowers for my nail lady, Ann.
 #2
We went to the donut shop when he woke up.
A man forgot his wallet, so we bought his donut and coffee.
 #3
We baked banana bread for their teachers at church.
 #4
He bought bubbles for his friends. The tag reads,
"Hello, I am doing "Acts of Kindness" for my birthday. This is from Jeremy."
I love his words!
I love this tradition! I will start it with Capri and Heidi-Rae when they turn 3!

Out of the mouths of babes:
  • Sissy, do you know how much I love you? As high as the plane fly in the sky.
  • Dear God, Thank you for Zia and that she is pretty. Thank you that she got my blanket and sissy's and maybe the new baby if her heart tells her.
  • Can you frocking on me? (Frocking means raspberry on his tummy)
  • I am a people
  • Do you realize mommy has a baby in her belly and we get to keep this one! (To Capri, following the miscarriage, and finding out there was another baby on the way)
  • Mommy, I like when you do your make up in the car because then I can see yo in the mirror. (FYI: I am not driving! I am ion the passenger seat while Bobby drives!)
  • Jeremy and Grandma are raving about how nice the grass is out back: This is like San Diego grass!
  • Ya know mom, we should really get a cake with a monkey on it. (out of the blue)
  • Why don't we turn brown when we die like the grass?
  • Running down the hall his gum falls out of his mouth: I left my gum behind!
  • I build this fort all by myself, somebody changed it! (Guilty! I moved something around so it was set up for him to sleep in!)
  • Me: J I don't want to you grow up! J: Sorry mom, we have to go through this!
I just love this goofy boy so much!
