My Knight and Shinning Armor

I know that sounds cliche but he really is! I am so blessed to have a husband that treats me like royalty.
I was reading a on becoming a better wife. It asked how would you answer this question: Why do you love your husband? Usually we answer with all their best qualities: he's charming, he still holds the door for me, he's incredibly attractive, he's consistent, he's helpful around the house, he takes care of the baby when my patience is wearing, he fills my mint water, he remembers chapstick for me, he works so hard so that I can stay home to take care Jeremy, he can fix anything,  about a year ago was challenged to be the Spiritual Leader of our family and has stepped up and done an amazing job!  To name a few.....
BUT . . . . What happens if we are 90 and he becomes unattractive (does that happen when you are old?) or his charm fades over the years? What does that say about the reasons you love him? The problem with these reasons is that they are conditional. I want to learn how to love my husband unconditionally. So that my answer isn't "I love you because...." but it's "I love you. Period."
That was a quote from The Love Dare.

I just felt I needed to share all his awesomeness!! I love him so much!

Da 5 of Jeremy being sick.....

Well, we found out yesterday he is allergic to Amoxicillin! So we are now on a different medicine and, so good. We are way off on naps and bedtime, eating *both nursing and solids* are off and today my happy-go-lucky little boy is so fussy! He goes from being happy one minute to crying the next minute! See the video below! Also, he stands in the video for about 10 seconds!! I'm so happy I had the camera running to capture it!

They are so precious when they sleep!

9 Month Check Up!

We had J's 9 month check up yesterday.... which was perfect timing because he has been sick all week..... cough, fever, runny and stuffy nose (go figure). But on the positive side he has been snuggly!! I love it!
So we, 3, go for his appointment. Bobby goes with me when he is getting shots.... so sweet of him! It just tugs at my heart strings a little too tight when they stick him and I am the one holding and comforting him! He looks at me like, "WHY did you let them do that to me? YOU are supposed to protect ME!!" .... Ok maybe that's a little dramatic but  I just hurt when I hold him! I know, I'm a sappy Mommy! But that's why God gave him a strong Daddy!! .....
Where was I? Oh yes.... with all that said he couldn't get shots because he was sick! (upper respiratory infection) I would like to note that this is the FIRST time J has been sick!! Woo-Hoo 9 months without an infection! We are crediting that to the breast milk! (boob juice, as Bobby calls it).
So we are waiting to see the Doc and J is fussy, wants to be down crawling, wants to be in our arms, wants to be nursed, wants to eat apples, he really doesn't know what he wants to do! Finally, crawling around the room makes him happy....until.... he falls and bumps his head on the chair just as the Doctor walks in. He screaming! We just have to laugh! We get prescriptions and she tells us to get a humidifier for his room. It has helped so much! He slept better last night!

9 month stats:
Weight: 18.6 lbs 50%-tile on growth chart. He's still small but growing and that's what matters!
Length: 28 1/2 inches long, 22%-tile. Same as above.
I can't remember what his head measured in at, but he is still in the 1%-tile!! Ya know
how mist babies look like they have alien heads in proportion to  their body? Not J! His is proportioned
 to his body size!
He is eating just about everything, as long as it's not pureed!! He hates pureed food!

I better be going because I think J just ate dog food!!! But not before I leave you with a few pictures!

He was a little sick but still enjoyed playing outside with Mommy.

Do we have a seal in the house?

Haha! No just a baby boy with Croup. Self-diagnoised.... rather mommy-diagnoised! Poor little boy has a runny nose (You better go catch it, I know corny but that's what Bobby would say), fever, lethargic, and a cough that sounds like there is a baby seal in our house. What's a mommy to do but snuggle all day with the little man! I just took him into the bathroom with the shower running HOT so he could breath the steam. It worked! He laughs without coughing now! Yay! The internet (you have to believe everything you read on the internet) says it could last up to 10 days! Yikes! We go to the doctor on Wednesday for J's 9 month shots, so we will see! As I am typing this we are watching Baby Einstein and the seals are on barking....hahahaha cracking me up! Afg, Afg, Afg...... <--- that's their barking noise.
I have also used "Save the Baby", it's Vicks for babies, it has helped him breath a little easier.

In other news... He managed to get to a standing position on his little car and hold on to the table. See picture below. He's a Daredevil, just like his Daddy! I'm sorry its so dark, I only had my phone with no flash handy....

J said, "More".

In sign language! He said it Wednesday, January 19, 2010 with Daddy! (see my purpose for blogging is already working! That's the first time I have written a milestone date down! woo-hoo). He did the motion today for me at breakfast!! i'm so proud!! The rewards are beginning.

In other news, he also fell off our bed this morning. We had a rough night. J was awake every 2 hours! By 6am I was done walking down the hallway to put the binky in. I know what you are thinking, it's not like I'm running a marathon! But it's a loooong way at 12am, 2am, 4am!!! I admit it, I'm weak! So 6am comes and I bring him in bed with me and nurse him. He FINALLY sleeps peacefully! When Bobby gets home I get up to have breakfast with him..... we hear a thump! But not hard or loud (ding) enough for it to be a baby, so we go in... not running but swiftly! As soon as we get to the door BAM..... baby to the floor on his back (it should be noted that we have hard wood floors thought out the entire house, bedroom included).  Pobre Cito!!! He was so sad!!
Don't worry no injuries..... this time. It is the 2nd time he has fallen off the bed!

The first time he feel off the bed. . . . he was only 2 weeks old! Bobby (sorry to spill the beans babe!) was burping him in the wee hours of the morning, after I nursed him. When we were able to bring him home from the NICU, his stomach wasn't fully developed, we had to help him digest by holding him upright after each feeding for 20 minutes. After 20 minutes of nursing and 20 minutes of holding upright, only to do it all over again in 3 hours, I was exhausted! Bobby can sleep sitting up, so he took this task on! Sometimes while trying to digest, Jeremy would gasp and throw his head back. He did this and Bobby wasn't able to catch him! "Oh crap, I dropped the baby." Wakes me up from sleep! I panicked!
There is usually a chair next to our bed, with the decorative pillows on it. THANK GOD we had small group that night and the chair was in the living room. The pillows were on the (hardwood) floor. A nice padded landing for our little 16 day old!

Toys but not toys......

Jeremy loves anything that is not a toy! Today's list included:
A cardboard that flip flops were displayed on
Every piece of tupperware in the cupboard
A dryer sheet
A chip clip
A tube of chapstick
Hangers
A washcloth

He cracks me up! Have a good night!
Lotion from Mommy's purse

Storage Tub

PVC pipe
I love his one sock

My purpose.....

My purpose for starting to blog is to force myself to write about the milestones in Jeremy's life. I keep saying I will and forget! Meanwhile, I don;t know when he scooted, crawled, ate cereal, etc for the first time! Ahhh And I only have 2 pictures from Christmas! Bad Mommy!
Reason #2: Give updates to the family that lives far away. So hopefully with all you blog watchers out there I will feel pressured to keep current events on here!
I guess with time I will learn how to do it and keep you entertained! Haha!
Cheers to the first entry! More to follow..........
